Held in September in Tokyo, JATA is Japan’s largest tourism-related event. It features exhibitors from over 150 countries and regions and all 47 prefectures in Japan. This is the best platform to tap Japan’s growing tourism potential. The number of foreign visitors to Japan has continued to break previous records and has eventually surpassed the number of Japanese travelling abroad. In 2015, Japan shifted the target of inbound and outbound travelers from 40 to 50 million. As the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics will focus the world’s attention on Japan, JATA aims at establishing the country as a major tourism-oriented nation.
