Peden Doma Bhutia
Born and brought up in a quaint hill town, Peden can certainly say her job has taken her places. Having had a few of her essays read out in class, she thought she would be the next big thing to hit the Indian literary circuit. In college she took up English honours to further fuel her dreams of becoming a writer. But even though those writers’ pay cheques never materialised, she did find her calling in writing, albeit of a different kind. After a master’s degree in English, she completed a PG diploma in Journalism from the Indian Institute of Mass Communication and found herself at the news desk of Hindustan Times, Mumbai. In the last 12 years she has worked at The Telegraph, Calcutta, The Times of India, and for a brief while, at the Times of Oman, Muscat. At DDP Publications she heads the editorial team and wears her many passports as a badge of honour.
